What I collect

When you sign up for the free chapter, I collect your email address. That's all. I don't ask for your name, your address or anything else.

This site is hosted by Wix, which automatically collects some technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, device and approximate location. This helps keep the site secure and working properly. You can read how Wix handles this in WIX.com Privacy Policy.

What I do with it

Your email address is used for two things: giving you access to Chapter One, and sending you my newsletter. The newsletter covers book news, launch updates and the occasional behind-the-scenes story. I won't email you about anything unrelated, and I'll never sell, rent or share your email address with anyone else.

Why I'm allowed to use it

You gave your consent when you signed up. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing.

Who else handles it

Your email address is stored and my newsletters are sent using Wix, which acts on my behalf. Wix may store data on servers outside your country, including in the United States, and uses standard legal safeguards when it does.

How long I keep it

Until you unsubscribe. After that, I'll no longer email you, and you can ask me to delete your address completely.

Unsubscribing

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click is all it takes. You can also reply to any email and ask to be removed, and I'll do it straight away.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you the data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Just email me at rkarnold1968@gmail.com.

If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
